The tickets for ‘The Excel Factor’ will go on sale on Monday 5th March 2012 and can only be purchased from the Sandpit theatre’s box office. Full details are on the poster. The students are working really hard in class and we know it is going to be an amazing show that we are going to be very proud of.
Our 2012 term kicks off on Wednesday 4th January!! We are looking forward to seeing you all again as we start to prepare for the 2012 show at The Sandpit Theatre in June.
We have had a very busy time at Excel over the last few weeks. Well done to the Performance students who represented 'Excel Performing Arts' at 'Willow's Farm Christmas Fayre' on Sunday 6th November, and who were also the opening act for the 'St Albans Christmas Lights Switch On Show' which took place on Sunday 20th November. The students performed 
a spectacular Christmas piece at both events that wowed the crowds!! We were extremely proud of you all.

Also a big well done to all the students who took an IDTA exam on Sunday 13th November. We are still awaiting the results from the IDTA and will wait until the presentation day on Saturday 10th December to reveal the results.
'SHOWTIME' - 3rd, 4th & 5th June 2011 at The Sandpit Theatre
Well done to everyone who took part in the show at The Sandpit Theatre. We are very proud of you all for working so hard. The feedback has been brilliant and we are so pleased everyone enjoyed the experience!
There are plenty of incredible photos that you can view 
in the gallery whilst you wait for the DVD and photo disc of the show to be put together. There were over 1200 photos in all taken of the show and the DVD was filmed from three different angles as well as backstage footage and various interviews. A wonderful keepsake memory of the show. If you don't have an order form please collect from class.

Steven's News!!
Watch out for Steven in ITV’s ‘Coronation Street’ starting from Monday 7th February at 7.30pm as he joins the cast playing the part of ‘Jeff Cullen’.
It is a very busy time for Steven at the moment as he divides his time between filming in Manchester and teaching at Excel.

A huge thank you to West End leading lady - Jane Fowler who guest taught the Jazz & Musical Theatre Dance classes on 2nd and 3rd November. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the classes and Jane has said she would love to return!
Exciting News
We are very excited to welcome West End leading lady - Jane Fowler, to guest teach on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2010.
Jane is an accomplished leading lady and has played Roxie in Chicago, Angel in Anything Goes, Maria in Love's Labour's Lost, Hotbox girl in Guys and Dolls, Tintinabula in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Spend Spend Spend. Sunset Boulevard, Helene in Sweet Charity, Patsy in Crazy for You and Mustardseed in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Recently, Jane has been working with Steven on 42nd Street at Chichester Festival Theatre.
Jane is also an experienced dance and drama teacher and we are thrilled that she has agreed to guest teach for us.

Welcome back everyone after the summer holidays and a very warm welcome to all of the new students that have joined Excel Performing Arts this term. We hope you have lots of fun as we get to know you all.
Summer Closure
We are currently closed for the summer holidays but looking forward to re-opening on Monday 6th September 2010 at Bowmansgreen School. All new classes will not start until the week beginning Monday 20th September. If you are a new student starting in September you will be receiving a ‘Welcome’ pack with your start date.
It will be a busy and fun packed term ahead as we prepare to open in Radlett on Thursday 23rd September at St Johns School. We are very excited to welcome the new Radlett students!
Sunday 21st November has been set for the IDTA exam session. Those involved will be receiving letters with more information.
Performance Class student's debut at 'Larks in the Park'
Well done to all the performance students who performed alongside Steven at 'Larks in the Park' on Sunday 20th June. You all were fantastic and gave a very professional performance!! Most of all we were very proud of you!! Thank you to parents for your support.
Ballet Bronze Medal Exams on Saturday 19th June
Congratulations to all the ballet students that took their Excel Ballet Bronze Medal exam. All the students rose to the challenge and we were extremely proud of every one of them. The examiner - Mrs Marilyn Spencer, who is an experienced ballet teacher and life member of the International Dance Teachers Association commented o
n how high the standard was. We are now confident that in the Autumn term the children are ready to take their IDTA grade examinations. We would also like to congratulate parents on how beautifully turned out they all were and thank you for your support. Steven adjudicating 'Miss Dance of Great Britain' & 'Masterdance'
As well as performing in '42nd Street' Steven is busy adjudicating various festivals and major competitions around the UK including 'Miss Dance of Great Britain' and 'Masterdance'. This is a huge competition organised by the International Dance Teachers Association and has various heats around the country ending in the final at Blackpool's Opera House on June 13th.

Very important dates for your diary!!
We have booked the Sandpit Theatre at Sandringham School for Excel Performing Arts’s first show on Friday 3rd June – Sunday 5th June 2011. It is a fantastic theatre that seats 260 and every class from Preparatory Ballet to the Drama & Singing classes will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of 
performing on a stage in a professional environment. At the end of the day that is what it is all about!
We are letting you know the dates now even though it is a year away. You may have noticed the week is half term 2011. Although the performance dates at this stage are on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, we have booked the theatre for the entire week and will require students to be available for rehearsals throughout. It is vital we know how many students are likely to go away on holiday during this week so that we can establish whether these dates will work. If we discover that a large percentage of
the school are likely to be away, we will have to re-think the dates.
We believe that this week would be ideal as we can rehearse in the day and it won’t affect the children being tired for school.
As you can imagine, it will be a huge project for us to organise and it will be vital that as many parents as possible get involved in whatever way they can to enable the students to have this amazing experience.
In September we will give out more details but for now please fill out the show date form and hand it back with your next term’s fees. For those who have never been to the Sandpit Theatre you can have a sneaky peak by visiting www.sandpittheatre.co.uk and we are sure you will agree that it is a fantastic stage and has wonderful facilities.
Performance Students Debut
Our talented performance class students have been working extremely hard and have been put through their paces having to learn intricate choreography and lyrics to various song numbers.
The 15 strong group will be making their debut performing alongside Ste
ven and will be the opening act for ‘Larks in the Park’ on Sunday 20th June. We hope as many of you as possible will be in the audience to support them. If you are unable to make this event, they will be performing at 3 other events during June and July. The dates and events are as follows:
Saturday 26th June – St Bernadette’s Summer Fete
Saturday 10th July – Colney Heath School Fun Day
Sunday 11th July – Bowmansgreen School Summer Fair

Welcome back Steven!
Our Artistic Director – Steven Houghton is back after a hugely successful arena tour with the opera diva – Katherine Jenkins. For those that were unable to see the show, it was an amazing production and Steven has said it was thrilling to perform at the O2 arena in London in front of thousands.
Steven has a busy time ahead as he has been asked to adjudicate ‘Miss Dance of Great Britain’ and ‘Master Dance’ for the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). He will also be performing in ‘42nd Street’ at the Chichester Festival Theatre over the summer.
Steven has missed you all and can’t wait to be teaching some of the classes again.

A huge thank you to actor Ben Richards who took time out of his busy filming schedule to teach a drama class on Wednesday 17th March to our lucky students. Ben is a very talented actor who is currently in ‘The 
Bill’.
Ben was very impressed with the professionalism that our students showed and commented on their talent. We were very proud to show off our students and Ben has said he would love to come back and teach again at Excel Performing Arts.
