• Parents are reminded that their child is only supervised during the time of their class, and whilst they are in the studio / hall.
  • A register will be kept for each session, and this is particularly important in the case of a fire emergency.

  • Parents are welcome to use the car park, where one is available, to set down and pick up their children.
  • Parents should be aware of the dangers of their children playing or wandering around the car park at any time.
  • The speed limit within the car park MUST be adhered to at all time.

  • Excel Performing Arts recognises its responsibility under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, and accordingly have a fully equipped first aid box in the possession of the Principle of the school, who is also a recognised first aider.

  • Accidents of a minor nature will be dealt with by the Principles of the school or their representatives, and the resulting appropriate first aid will be administered.
  • If after initial investigation, the accident proves, or is thought to be of a serious nature the following steps will be taken; a) appropriate first aid b) send for an ambulance if needed/contact parents as appropriate.
  • The procedures for serious illness will be the same as above.

  • Warning signals – Break the glass on wall mounted fittings and dial 999 to call the fire brigade.
  • Evacuation – All personnel to be evacuated from the building under the Principles or their representative’s supervision.
  • Register – On evacuation, all personnel to be checked off against the register.
  • Fire drill – We will hold 2 fire drills per year to ensure that everyone is familiar with the evacuation procedure.

  1. Parents are asked to regularly check that their children in any of the premise locations have not left litter.
  2. Dogs are not allowed into any of the premises, except dogs used by visually impaired people.
  3. Parents are reminded that their child’s class is in a building within a residential area. They are respectfully requested to keep noise to a minimum when exiting the building.
